I am wondering if it is legal for a restaurant to refuse me tap water? They don't even offer it at a cost, they just refuse tap water point blank. Is this legal? I can find stuff about it for England, Scotland and Wales, but not for NI

From what I am aware it is not illegal to refuse you free tap water. Hope that helps :)

As far as I am aware there is no law to support this claim. However there are some restaurants who do not like to give you water as they want you to buy their drinks as that is how they make their money. However some restaurants have been known to charge you for the glass not the water. So perhaps if you offered to pay for the glass you may get the water. Ridiculous I know, but it has happened to me. I hope this helps.
